Within Apex Trader we have introduced a Trading View signals feature that allows you to combine trading view alerts with Apex. Meaning alerts that you set up within the trading view platform can signal to Apex and allow Apex to manage the buying of your positions.
The signal setup is very simple. First head over to the Signals tab in Apex and Generate Address. You will see a unique email address has been generated for you (please do not copy the one from the screenshot, generate your own!)
Do not give anyone your signals address
Connecting TV to Apex
Once you have your unique signals email you can head over to Trading View to connect Trading View with Apex.
Firstly (when you're on an interactive chart) you'll want to click the top left, and then click Profile Settings. If you are not on an interactive chart the account button will be located just to the right of the Search Bar
Once you're in Profile Settings #we then want to head into Settings. In here we're looking for SMS Email. This is where we enter the unique address that was generated from Apex. Once you've entered this click Save
To set up an alert you can simply right click on the chart and select Add Alert
You will then be shown another pop with many available settings in which you can set up your alert. We are only looking to show how to connect Trading View with Apex. For this, we need to select Send Email-to-SMS. Once you have selected this a box will appear, (This box may not appear!) in here, simply re-enter your Generated Address that you set up on Apex
Your Trading View account is now connected to Apex Trader
Buy Message Builder
This is where you come to set up whether you are looking to;
- Buy/Sell a position
- Select the Symbol
- Select the strategy that will be added once bought
Once you have this setup you will notice below this the Alert Message has been built for you. Copy this and paste it into the alert message field on Trading View, just like below.
Sell Message Builder
The sell-side has a few more options, they include:
- Limit Sell (current price)
- Market Sell
- Limit Sell (define price)
If you're looking for the position to be limit sold at the current price (once the alert is received) simply leave the 'Price' field empty.
When wanting to define the limit price enter the desired value at which you want to place the limit order, and example of this below
Update: Apex Trader adds Groups into the Trading View Signal alerts.
This means that a position can only be sold via a trading view alert if the group matches. E.g. you have multiple groups for ETHBTC open and an alert comes in on Group 1, only the position which was opened by Group 1 would be sold in this instance.
